 Un poco de la historia detrás de Pantone:

En 1963, Lawrence Herbert, fundador de Pantone, creo un sistema innovador para identificar, combinar y comunicar colores y así resolver los problemas asociados con la producción de muestras de colores precisas para la comunidad de artes gráficas. Su perspicacia de que el espectro es visto he interpretado de manera diferente por cada individuo llego a la inovación de PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM®, un libro de colores estandarizados en formato de abanico.  

Desde entonces, Pantone a extendido su concepto de un sistema de muestras de colores a otras industrias en donde el color es de suma importancia, incluyendo tecnología digital, textiles, plásticos, arquitectura, interiores y pinturas. Pantone continua desarrollando herramientas para una variedad de industrias y ha adoptado una nueva tecnología digital para guiar las necesidades del color para el diseño y profesionales en producción.

 A litte bit of the history behind Pantone:

In 1963, Lawrence Herbert, Pantone's founder, created an innovative system of identifying, matching and communicating colors to solve the problems associated with producing accurate color matches in the graphic arts community. His insight that the spectrum is seen and interpreted differently by each individual led to the innovation of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM®, a book of standardized color in fan format.
Since then, Pantone has expanded its color matching system concept to other color-critical industries, including digital technology, textiles, plastics, architecture and contract interiors, and paint. Pantone continues to develop color communication tools for a variety of industries and aggressively adopt new digital technology to address the color needs of design and production professionals.
